Co. Wicklow - Ireland

Hi everyone.
Hope you all have had an amazing summer this year. This summer we didn't take any time off abroad (Except for a quick trip to Delft - Holland to shoot a Wedding) We spent the time on our green Island of Éire. And I most say it was nice to stay put for once. Yesterday Cailín and I went to one of our favorite places in Co. Wicklow to do some Landscape / River images.
Wanted to grab some last few images before all the green leaves turn red and yellow, and the winter finally arrives to our Island. For the guys who don't know I have a BIG love for the nature. From the early age of 2, my dad - Bernt use to take us camping in the Norwegian Woods. And when I got my first camera when I was 10 years old of my big brother Anton. Landscape Photography became my passion and it went hand in hand with my love for camping and the wildlife experience. But with more and more work coming our way, I must admit that the time to go camping and hillwalking is becoming less and less with the time. But when the opportunity arrises, I pack my backpack, sleeping bag and my Norwegian Lavvu (Tipi Tent) and I am off!
When people ask me "....where would your favorite place to go camping be....?" With no hesitation: "That would be Royrvik in North Trondelag, Norway." If you are lucky you can see Bears, Wolverines, Mountain Fox's, Reindeer and even Wolfs. And lakes after lakes with yummy Mountain Trouts. And houses are fare between. Just an amazing place!
But that is for another Blog Post.

These images are from an amazing place in Co. Wicklow, Ireland
As an Photographer it is important that you keep your passion for the photography. What started as a hobby because you loved it, can quickly turn in to a shore, due to everything you shoot becomes work based. So try to keep it separate from what you usually shoot from day to day basis. If the Photography becomes just work and no fun... Well you will be back to square one and Photography just becomes "something you do to make a living and pay the bills"

I hope you like them as much as I liked shooting them.

For all of you wondering what kind of gear I used to shoot these images:

  1. 1 Canon 5D w/Batterie Grip
  2. 1 Canon 24 - 70 2,8L
  3. 1 Fade ND Filter 77mm (Allows me to get the sunlight and the long exposer of the water)
  4. 1 Hahnel Giga T Pro Wireless Trigger
  5. 1 Slik 300 Tri-Pod
